Weekend Recap:
Well, not the weekend, but on Wednesday, I went to see PowerWolf with a dear friend and her two kids. She’s an absolute metal head, so her kids love that music too, so it was a family affair. These kids love PowerWolf, so they were thrilled to be there — though the littlest little only made it halfway through the show before she was falling asleep, so Papa took her to the car to sleep.
Mama, bigger little, and I stayed for the whole show, and it was incredible! They do put on a legit show, it’s definitely more than music, it’s an experience. I’m super glad they made the trip to Denver, and because of the massive, high intensity crowd, they promised to be back. ::score!::
Alright, I happily admit I watch and enjoy The Masked Singer on Hulu. And my friends and I have absolutely talked about what our costume and first song would be… because there’s even the minutest of changes that we’d ever be “celebrity” enough to be on that show. Anyway, we’ve talked about it, and as I was catching up on the last episode, I started to wonder what my characters would say. Let’s ask them!
First, Me! The author and creator of everyone in my worlds. I would be the Vixen (yes, they’ve had the fox, but I’d specifically be the Vixen) and my first song would be Simple Plan’s Me Against the World.
Me to the conglomerate of my characters all chilling in my imagination’s break room — much like the cafeteria at Disney where the costumed cast goes to unwind: Hey, humans and… human-like creatures! If you were on The Masked Singer show, what would your costume be? And what song would you sing?
Caine (New Hope): Oh! I’d be a cowboy, and–
Me: A little on the nose, but okay.
Caine: I’d sing The Thunder Rolls.
Me: Great song choice, but I’m pretty sure they’d just make you a cow.
Caine: ::shrugs:: Yeah, well, I’m still a boy, so it all works out.
Me: Tree?
Chaos (Gates of Humanity): Her costume is right in her name.
Tree (New Hope): ::glares at the tiny redhead:: For your information, I’d be a horse.
Chaos: And Caine is a cowboy? Who’s riding who?
Me: Ohmigod! Chaos, shut up and wait your turn! Lord have mercy…
Tree: ::actually blushing!:: I’d be a horse, in honor of VanHelsing. And I’d sing Bad Things, by Jace Everett.
Me: The theme to True Blood?
Tree: Sure.
Me: Okay, well, Chaos, what about you?
Chaos: I’d be a hurricane.
Me: I don’t… think they can costume natural disasters…
Chaos: Then a tornado.
Me: Still a natural disaster.
Chaos: A tidal wave?
Me: Are you being purposely dense?
Chaos: I’m sure they could make one of those a costume.
Me: Okay, fine. What would you sing?
Chaos: Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ral
Tree: ::snickers:: What a dumb song.
Chaos: It’s the only one I know.
Tree: ::Actually shuts up:: Cool song.
Me: ::nods, looking around:: Anyone else?
Finn (Gates of Humanity): Can I be a stoat?
Me: Um, probably. But you might need to explain to the costumers. We don’t have stoats in the US.
Finn: ::annoyed:: It’s a weasel.
Me: ::holding hands up:: I know what it is, I’m just saying it’s not that common.
Finn: What’s so hard–
Me: Song choice, Finn! What would you sing?
Finn: Zombie. By The Cranberries.
::Tree and Caine cringe::
Me: Yeah, I guess you have a different world to deal with. Zombies is somewhat taboo in other worlds.
Finn: ::shrugs:: Whatever.
Me: Well, that was–
Xander (NewHope): I’d be a barbastelle and I’d sing Nothing Else Matters.
::Everyone stares in silence::
Me: ::clears throat:: You like Metallica?
Xander: Doesn’t everyone?
Me: ::stares some more:: Riiiiiiiiiight. Okay, well, that was fun. No one even started fighting this time. I’m really proud of us, friends. Good job.
Chaos: If you need confrontation, Tree and I could–
Me: That’s great! Okaybie!
